How do we use ancient Greek ideas today?

Following Unit 15 of the Schemes of Work for the History Curriculum, the wallchart forms an overview of how the legacy ofancient Greece still informs life today. Modern images depicting the Greek influence on our lives are juxtaposed with their links to the ancient world. Pictures include the Olympic Games, theatre, government, medicine, learning, language and buildings.

Sixteen A4 picture cards extends these areas by focussing on some of the historical sources for this period and allows pupils to address the question "How do we know about ancient Greece?"

The free accompanying Teacher's Guide contains additional information about the topic and photocopiable activity sheets for children to complete.
